Why won't anyone give me a price over the phone?

Because roof area isn't the same as house area, and nobody can see your decking, layers, or penetrations from a phone call. We publish typical local ranges so you're not flying blind, then measure your actual roof to give you a real number.

Do you charge for the estimate?

No. Inspection, measurement, photographs, and the written quote are all free, with no contract to sign first. If we find nothing worth doing, that visit still cost you nothing and we'll tell you plainly.

What payment methods do you take?

Card, check, and the usual electronic options, plus third-party financing if you'd rather spread it. We don't ask for the full amount up front, and the final payment comes after you've walked the finished roof with us.

Is the cheapest quote ever the right one?

Sometimes, if it's genuinely the same scope. Often it isn't — the gap is a skipped tear-off, four nails instead of six, or no allowance for decking. Compare the line items rather than the totals and the answer usually becomes obvious.

How soon can somebody actually come out?

Inspections and estimates usually land within a few days. Active leaks and storm damage jump the queue — if water is coming into the building right now, say that at the start of the call and we'll treat it as an emergency.

Do I need to be home?

Not for the roof itself. If you want the attic checked, somebody has to let us in. Plenty of our second-home and rental customers are never on site; we photograph everything and send the report wherever they are.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most single-family homes on the Grand Strand are torn off and re-roofed in one day. Larger, steeper, or more complex roofs run into a second day, and decking repairs can add time. You get the expected schedule before we start.

What do I need to do before the crew arrives?

Clear the driveway, move vehicles off the apron, take anything fragile off the walls upstairs, and cover things in the attic if you store items up there. We handle tarping the landscaping and protecting the rest.

Should I file a claim or just pay for the repair?

Compare the repair cost against your actual deductible — which on a coastal policy may be a percentage of your dwelling coverage rather than a flat figure. We'll give you the number so you can make that call before you file anything.

Somebody knocked on my door after the storm. Should I sign?

Not on your porch. Storm chasers work this coast hard after every named system, and the contracts they carry often contain clauses people regret. Get the roof documented by somebody local first, then decide with time to think.

Can you tarp my roof tonight?

If it's open and water is getting in, that's exactly what we do. A proper tarp runs over the ridge and fastens into sound decking with battens so it holds for weeks, not one squall.

My roof looks fine after the storm. Am I clear?

Not necessarily. Wind can break a shingle's seal strip and lay the tab back down looking untouched, and hail bruises the mat without breaking the surface. Both age the roof quietly. A free post-storm check settles it.

Who actually shows up to do the work?

Our own crews. The person who quotes your roof has installed roofs, and stays your point of contact through the build. We aren't a sales office subcontracting the actual roofing to whoever is available that week.

What does GAF certified mean for me?

Accepted Answer

It means our installations have to meet the manufacturer's own standards for fastening, underlayment, and ventilation — and that meeting those standards is what qualifies your roof for GAF material coverage rather than a generic warranty.

How far do you travel?

Roughly Georgetown, South Carolina up to Leland, North Carolina, and inland to Aynor and Loris. That's about ninety miles of coast plus the farm country behind it, with no travel surcharge anywhere in it.
